..expressly with the purpose of using it to print with. The first print is a yellow/white mixed ink on black paper, which has a landscape or underwater vibe, and the second, brown ink on wrapping paper, which for me looks more industrial.
The same element (the edging of the brown paper) manages to look organic in the yellow print – evoking a line of trees and their shadows at the edge of a field – and industrial in the second, evoking dark satanic mills.
Both prints seem an amazing illustration of how the brain excavates meaning from entirely abstract images.
And here is what the original artwork looked like after being used for printing – which I also quite like.
